Seemingly lost in time not until very long ago, Koh Chang
island off Trat province is set to take off on a course perhaps similar to
Phuket, Krabi and Samui in south Thailand. These days it's bustling with
activity attracting an increasing number of tourists and land developers.
Fortunately, 80% of the island, second to Phuket in size, is still
protected as Koh Chang National Park. Only a small strip of land on the
beachfront is privately owned and prone to development and infrastructure
projects. |
